How long does it take for the collar to work?
It can take up to 4 weeks for the collar to reach its full effect. During this time, we recommend that your pet wears it as much as possible, including at night.
Does my pet need to wear the collar all the time?
For the best results, especially during the first 4 weeks, your pet should wear the collar as continuously as possible. After that, it can be removed occasionally when needed.
Can the collar get wet?
Yes. Normal contact with water is fine. However, we recommend removing the collar before swimming in chlorinated water, such as swimming pools.
How often should I clean the collar?
We recommend cleaning it approximately every two weeks. Rinse it with lukewarm water only and let it dry naturally, preferably in sunlight. Avoid soap, detergents and other chemicals on the ceramic beads.
Can I use other flea or tick products at the same time?
Yes, but try to avoid getting oils, sprays or other chemical products directly onto the ceramic beads.
Can I attach a leash to the EM collar?
No. Kyara EM Collars are not designed to hold a leash or withstand pulling. Always use a separate walking collar or harness.
Should I remove the collar during rough play?
During the first 4 weeks, we recommend keeping it on as much as possible. After that, you can remove it during very rough play to help protect the ceramic beads and hemp cord from damage.
What if one ceramic bead breaks?
If just one bead breaks, you do not need to replace the collar. It can still be used. Check it regularly and consider replacing it if several beads become damaged or the cord shows significant wear.
How often should I replace the collar?
We recommend replacing the collar once a year. However, it may need to be replaced sooner depending on your pet’s lifestyle, activity level and how much wear the collar gets.
Does it guarantee 100% protection against fleas and ticks?
No. So far, our collars have worked for Kyara and every pet whose owner has tried them, but every animal and environment is different. For that reason, we cannot guarantee 100% protection in every case. We still recommend checking your pet regularly, especially during flea and tick season.
Is the collar safe for cats?
Our cat collars use a pressure-release closure designed to open when enough pressure is applied, helping reduce the risk of the cat becoming trapped if the collar gets caught on something.
How do I choose the right size?
Measure your pet’s neck where the collar will sit. It should fit comfortably without being too tight. We recommend leaving enough room to fit two fingers between the collar and your pet’s neck.
What are the collars made from?
Each Kyara EM Collar is handmade using EM ceramic beads and organic hemp cord, without plastic.
